FCC Taskforce to Prevent Digital Discrimination

Last week, the Fortune Society's Digital Equity Team braved the inclement weather to participate in a listening session held by the FCC's Taskforce on Preventing Digital Discrimination. The event was held at Medgar Evers College, in Brooklyn, and open to the public. It included representatives from over a dozen organizations fighting for greater digital equity.

As one of the only organizations representing the justice-involved community, our presentation focused on the unique challenges faced by people returning home after prison.

It was also an opportunity to learn from and connect with the broader digital equity community in our city and our state. We greatly appreciate the conversations we had throughout the event, and look forward to collaborating with our fellow presenters over the next few months and years.

The Fortune Society thanks the FCC for including us in their listening session, and we look forward to contributing to their efforts to end digital discrimination in the future.
